MAKING IT BETTER
Frequent visits abroad in search of new technology and the continuous introduction of new products, made Luft the most active and progressive fan distributor of the decade. The company had its head office in Cape Town with branches in Johannesburg and Durban. Agents were appointed in Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth and South West Africa (Namibia). In 1991, the company was sold to a large building construction company who dropped the Luft name and traded under the name of Associated Air Industries. Two years later, Luft Industries (Pty) Limited together with other companies in the air movement industry, were sold to a large fan manufacture in Johannesburg. In 1995, Anton Jansen and Alberto Caetano continued with the Durban operation and formed a new company, which is today, Luft Industries Natal (Pty) Limited. Although there has been confusion about the Luft name in the market place, Luft Industries Natal (Pty) Limited is a privately owned South African company and has no association with the former owners of Luft Industries (Pty) Limited or with any other company in South Africa.
